Join Our Pack! On a daily basis, we have new foster dogs and cats coming into the system that need medical care, such as insulin, heart meds, allergy meds etc. Won't you be part of the pack and help with a monthly donation?
2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs. Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families. We have many sponsorship dogs. Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :) When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :) So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue. Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding. Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :) Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us!

Hello my name is Mia4.
11/6/2014 update: I now have all of my shots, and was just recently fixed and also have learned how to do some tricks! I have learned to do some jumps and how to go up on my hind legs for a short period of time!

I am a five pound mini-shih tuz who just LOVES to be held and played with I am a "BONDED PAIR WITH THE DOG JEMMA." PLEASE ADOPT THE BOTH OF US! I also love to play ball and race Jemma to get the "MINI TENNIS BALL" even though Jemma usually beats me. Just as Jemma says, the two of us came from a not so great place but that's behind us now and we're both really happy . I was slightly scared when I first arrived at my foster home. I shake when I'm really nervous and cold. Learning to sit was a little slow with me compared to my sis Jemma, and I need reminders at times of to sit and hold in my new found love of meeting new people. Both of us two sisters are quiet dogs except when you take one of us away from the other, then we can get a little vocal. Going to the outside bath room was so amazing I had a little trouble even remembering that I even had to go in the first place. I LOVE to be outside. So just as a little heads up, I may be small in size but boy do I run fast when my leash is off. Now if Jemma is taken inside the house before me I do tend to start worrying and will cry even for her. Please do not separate the two of us. We would like to be in our forever home together! I learned that children are super fun to play with! Big dogs, um I'm not so sure about so far. Just like Mia if you rub my belly you will get lots of kisses,
More about Mia4
Good with Dogs, Not Good with Cats, Good with Kids
Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not.
A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop!
