Join Our Pack! On a daily basis, we have new foster dogs and cats coming into the system that need medical care, such as insulin, heart meds, allergy meds etc. Won't you be part of the pack and help with a monthly donation?
2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs. Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families. We have many sponsorship dogs. Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :) When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :) So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue. Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding. Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :) Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us!

UPDATE - OK puppies are all taken care of and now Chloe is ready for adoption! She is SUPER sweet and learning to be a dog and that its ok to wag her tail and sleep in bed :) She's still not sure what toys are for but I guarantee she will like them :)
UPDATE - Chloe had 6 little puppies on July 20th. She will not be ready for adoption for 5 - 6 weeks. She had emergency surgery within 3 days of giving birth due to a pyometriosis. She is recouping nicely and still nursing bless her heart. Chloe is Coopers little "seeing eye" friend so we will not split them. They will be adopted together :)
Chloe was one of a pair of dogs rescued from a "free to Good Home" ad/backyard breeder bait. Passed from at least three different breeders, she fared better than her little blind male partner, Cooper. Despite some fleas, she is of good body weight, ears were plucked, and nails were reasonably well kept. I believe that because the "mother" of a breeding pair is more often shown as a sample of what the puppies might look like, they tend to be in a little better shape at this young age.
Chloe is sweet and gentle to handle. She will come when called, unless she has something more pressing to do, and I believe she is housebroken. She is kenneled at night and during my part-time work schedule. After her first day she has been free to roam throught my living space and fenced yard without incident.
She rides well in the car and had no issue with my dogs nor my visiting 8 and 10 year old granddaughters.
Despite her original fate, Chloe is a jewel and already well on her way to being a fabulous pet!
Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not.
A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop!
