Join Our Pack! On a daily basis, we have new foster dogs and cats coming into the system that need medical care, such as insulin, heart meds, allergy meds etc. Won't you be part of the pack and help with a monthly donation?
Chevy needs a caretaker or foster!
Won't you consider helping him get a new start?
2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs. Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families. We have many sponsorship dogs. Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :) When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :) So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue. Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding. Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :) Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us!

What beautiful boy this little beagle is! Check out those bedroom eyes! He likes to sit for treats and chew his nylabones. After a day of playing nice with his foster siblings he curls up in bed with you and snoozes off till the alarm sounds. A very neat fellow he stays clean in the house and hates to get his feet wet outside. He loves kids and a good romp in the back yard! Not much of a lapdog but can be persuaded to snuggle while you are watching tv at night. His coat is so soft! He tolerates a crate if you have to leave him alone. He would prefer to just be a happy housedog with his own family including a kid or other dog to play with would be wonderful for him! Great dog!!! Fill out an application and come meet this guy!
Original notes: Poor little Chevy :( He was brought to the high kill shelter with his collar embedded in his neck :( He had been tied to a tree for his short life and obviously had had a collar put around his neck when he was a tiny puppy and it had never been adjusted or removed so it had literally grown into his neck! The collar was surgically removed and Chevy was put in a crate at the shelter. When we got there it was obvious that Chevy was not feeling good and the shelter was trying their best with meds but it was apparent that poor Chevy was not thriving at the shelter. He had already lost 4lbs and he was already too thin when he came in :(
Chevy has arrived in PA with 2nd Chance and we are so hoping to find him his forever family in time for the holidays. We think he deserves a better life don't you??!!!
Since Chevy is a beagle we will require a fenced yard. No more tree tie outs for Chevy!
Well I have made to Pa and I am so ready to find my new family. My neck is all healed you can hardly tell since my fur grew back. Like any youngester I love to explore and learn new things. I am already house broken and know how to sit but just need someone to show me more. I am eager to learn. I Love to romp and run. Even to have my belly rubbed. Wont you let me love you forever?

Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not.
A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop!
