Join Our Pack! On a daily basis, we have new foster dogs and cats coming into the system that need medical care, such as insulin, heart meds, allergy meds etc. Won't you be part of the pack and help with a monthly donation?
2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs. Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families. We have many sponsorship dogs. Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :) When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :) So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue. Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding. Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :) Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us!

Update 9/27/12: I am so happy being a lapdog! I give kisses and love to be petted and my foster Mommy tells me all the time how soft and sweet I am. Now I just need a permanent family of my own to cuddle and snuggle under the covers with. I am serious about doing my business outside and have no problem holding it overnight, 'cause I really like sleeping in! My foster siblings think I'm sweet too and I even give them kisses now and then but running and playing real hard isn't my thing. My foster Mom thinks I would do great as an only dog who gets all the attention or in a home with another quieter dog or two if they are small and freindly. I'm a great chair or couch buddy and I won't move till you do! Crates are not something I like at all and I don't think I need one (I don't chew things and I have what my foster Mom calls a "cast iron bladder") but I will tolerate a crate a short while if I have to. I walk on a leash nice with you and ride in a car good too. C'mon and fill out an application to meet me if you need a cuddly and laid back little sweetheart in your life!
Intake Notes: This poor little girl lost her home along with her friends Bugsy and Murphy :( So sad when families don't plan before they take on a family member they then dump :( We promised Addison it will NOT happen again so if you are not into her for life then please don't apply.
Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not.
A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop!
