Join Our Pack! On a daily basis, we have new foster dogs and cats coming into the system that need medical care, such as insulin, heart meds, allergy meds etc. Won't you be part of the pack and help with a monthly donation?
2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs. Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families. We have many sponsorship dogs. Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :) When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :) So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue. Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding. Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :) Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us!

Hellowwwww my name is Bella the Boxer. Now are you ready for my story?? Well I was on the "lamb" for a month!!!! I have no clue what that means but people keep saying it. I didn't see any lamb?! Anyway I got pretty good at finding places to hide but it was hard to find food and I got REALLY skinny! Some nice people started to leave food out for me but I didn't stop before crossing the street so they were really worried that I was going to get hit by a car and they called 2nd Chance. The 2nd Chance Director came and tried to get me to come to her. I got pretty close but then ran away each time she tried to touch me. She was very nice and kept talking to me and I "talked" to her A LOT!! I just wasn't ready to trust her so after hours she had to leave and told me she would be back. Wellllll I decided to take a run across the road and this thing they call a truck didn't stop and it hit me which didn't feel really good :( I fell down but then people started running towards me and I was more scared of them than hurting myself worse so I got up and hobbled off. The Director came back and she brought these big metal wire things... She put some yummy food in them and when I went to check out the food that night the door shut and I couldn't get out hmmmmm that was scary and then she came and got me. I was still scared but she took me straight to the vet and went in a room and sat on the floor and opened the door and waited for me to come out and talk to her. She even gave me hugs even though I had lots of bugs on me!!! The doctor called the bugs ticks and he said I had A LOT!!!! I don't like bugs!! They fixed me up and have since checked to see if the bugs gave me this thing called Lymes Disease. (evidently its not a gift you want to get). I don't have it so 2nd Chance was very happy :) I now live in this great house with a fenced yard and another dog that looks sort of like me but he's a lot bigger and don't tell him but I think I'm a lot cuter!! If you have a fenced yard and another dog that would like a playmate I would love to meet you :)

Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not.
A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop!
