Join Our Pack! On a daily basis, we have new foster dogs and cats coming into the system that need medical care, such as insulin, heart meds, allergy meds etc. Won't you be part of the pack and help with a monthly donation?
2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs. Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families. We have many sponsorship dogs. Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :) When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :) So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue. Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding. Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :) Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us!

Oh Romeo! What a lover Romeo is! He is so thankful and curious in his new cozy home. He is just so happy to have someone that cares enough to feed him and let him out of his crate. You see he was the sparkle of his momma's eye but one day she just forgot about him (a medical condition) and left him all alone in his crate. He was very sick and thin when he was found in the home all alone and abandoned by someone he thought loved him. The nice people that found him tried to keep him but it became just too much having 2 large dogs already and needing to care for an elder mother in their home. They just wanted him to be loved once again like he deserves. Romeo MUST have a fenced in yard because he is extremely active and playful. He does not do well in a crate because of his past and he loves to sleep in bed with his foster mommy. He has a fresh start now so wouldn't you check him out and be his Juliet!
Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not.
A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop!

PLEASE BE AWARE: Adoption questions are not website questions! If you have questions about adoption or a specific dog, fill out an Adoption Application and the dog's foster will get in touch with you.
