Because we are non-profit, all of our work is done by volunteers – fundraising, advertising, web site management, mailings, committees, doggy sitting and more. Without the selfless donations of time and energy provided by our volunteers, 2nd Chance would never have been able to place so many dogs in loving homes. There are always volunteer roles to be filled within our organization, and if you decide to foster or adopt later, being an on-record volunteer provides a fast track through that application process.

Volunteers at the Rescue Ranch Sanctuary located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA 17366 are especially needed. The volunteers at the ranch help with breakfast, steam floors, help with wash, scoop litter boxes, vacuum, bathe dogs, oversee play yards, scoop poop all while interacting with the fur buddies NONE of which are kept in kennels or cages. They have free reign of the ranch! It is a slice of heaven on earth.
Fosters and volunteers are selected from a pool of applicants. We consider your employment and housing situations, and perform a background check on all persons in your home over the age of 18. We place the success of our entire rescue endeavor in the hands of our fosters and volunteers every day, so we want to be sure that any new helpers will have the same passion and commitment that we do.
